A native of upstate New York, Barie moved to Indiana in 2013 where he served as Ivy Tech Northeast’s chief fundraising officer until joining Borror Public Affairs in 2017.
Since joining Borror Public Affairs, Barie has gained significant experience in local government finance and gaming matters. In addition, Barie’s higher education background has enabled Borror Public Affairs to become intimately familiar with issues surrounding workforce education and development. Barie enjoys the challenge of working to understand complex legislative issues and communicating solutions to the Indiana General Assembly in an effective and responsible manner.
During his time at Ivy Tech, Barie successfully raised over $3.5 million in private donations and grants. In addition to his fundraising efforts, Barie worked closely with large employers, regional legislators, and economic development agencies focused on workforce development and higher education
Prior to moving to Indiana, Barie worked for a political action committee assisting multiple federal and statewide campaigns including U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, and New York State Governor. In addition, he served as assistant to the CFO at a midsized steel fabrication plant in Plattsburgh, N.Y., where he gained significant experience in business operations and advanced manufacturing.
Barie is a graduate of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, and is licensed to practice in Indiana. He received a B.S. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Barie and and his wife, Sierra reside in Noblesville.
